Join two SynthRISE Expansion Shelves together to create an adjustable-width mega-shelf. The combined shelf width can be as narrow or as wide as you like, as long as there is enough shelf overlap to allow use of all four sets of screws and nuts.

CAUTION:  A spliced shelf cannot carry a heavy load at its center.  The load must be distributed evenly across the spliced shelf, or the loads must be located above the gear support edges on the underlying stand.

Either join two identical shelves together, or add a smaller shelf to a larger shelf as a "wing".

See the false-color CAD images which show the kit in use.

Maximum Width of Two Shelves:

  • Expansion Shelf Large 723.9 mm (28.5") using all 4 pairs of fasteners.
  • Expansion Shelf Medium 594.36 mm (23.4") using all 4 pairs of fasteners.
  • Expansion Shelf Small 690.8 mm (27.2") using all 4 pairs of fasteners.

ASSEMBLY:  Assembly of this kit is tool-free.  Join the screws and nuts by holding the flat top of the screw in place with your fingertip, while spinning the hex nut with your other hand.  But if you have a 1/16" (1.5 mm) hex key you may use it.If you are splicing shelves for use on our Adapt Small or Adapt Medium stands, consider increasing your stand's width by purchasing Long Telescoping Tubes to replace the standard-width telescoping tubes in your stand.  NOTE:  Adapt Large stands come standard with long telescoping tubes.

INCLUDES QUANTITY OF 4 EACH:

  • #6-32 x 1/2" long low-profile screw, color:  black
  • #6-32 hex nut with integrated lock washer, color:  black
  • Rubber bumper to hold gear with small feet above the screw heads
  • Shelves are not included.  They must be purchased separately.

NOTE:  This kit works perfectly for any SynthRISE or KVgear Expansion shelves purchased after January 2024.  If you have shelves purchased prior to that you will need to drill holes in your shelves in order to join them together.
