This combination is not a happy accident.  Part of our intention when designing the Expansion Shelf Medium many years ago was that it could hold pedals on our medium stands.  We've tweaked the design of the stand and shelves to ensure that this combination will be highly useful for holding a collection of pedals, all within easy reach of your other desktop gear.
